Opportunity of a lifetime! Rare 6.54-acre secluded setting tucked away in the heart of beautiful historic Plattsmouth. On the SE edge of town, a private driveway leads you to a peaceful mix of mature trees/pasture, offering endless possibilities for an acreage lifestyle. Whether you've been searching for the perfect spot to build a Barn dominium, custom home, hobby farm, or equestrian retreat, this property checks all the boxes. Plenty of room for horses, chickens, cows, outbuildings. Properties with this kind of privacy & acreage just off a hard surface road are incredibly hard to find! Existing improvements include a detached 2-car garage & small outbuilding. The manufactured home currently on the property is considered to have no value and will need to be demolished and removed. CITY Utilities are already on site, making this an excellent opportunity to create your own private country oasis! Don't delay, opportunities like this rarely hit the market & tend to sell QUICK!! Area Information

Plattsmouth

Honor the Past, Plan for the Future is the motto for the city of Plattsmouth, NE. By preserving its Main Street Historic District and implementing its One and Six Year Plans for the Future, it has taken these words seriously. Today its citizens and many visitors enjoy the area’s heritage through not only restored homes, antique and eclectic shops and all types of restaurants, but with events such as the 80-year-old Harvest Festival, Rollin’ on the River—a huge firework display every 4th of July, Cruzin’ Main—a car show in October, and Hometown Holidays with carriage rides and carolers in November.

Lewis and Clark visited an area north of the Platte River in 1804, but it wasn’t until 1854 that a trading post named The Barracks was constructed as a permanent site for docking ferry boats transporting settlers across the Missouri River from Mills County, IA. As a community developed, the name was changed to Plattsmouth to reflect the convergence of the Platte River with the Missouri River. Fertile farmland and easy access to both rivers played important roles in the city’s development and continue to do so today.

With easy access to Bellevue and Omaha, many people commute to work in these communities. This is especially true of military personnel stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. The city government and its Chamber of Commerce are also actively engaged in economic development for the area and have been the recipients of several large grants used for a new senior facility, the Plattsmouth Community Center, and an industrial park.

Education is well-served with two parochial schools, an Early Childhood Center, an Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. All buildings are relatively new and have excellent technological facilities for both staff and students. Plattsmouth also has a 40,000-volume library, fifteen churches, and six public parks. Each park fulfills a specific need—there’s one with ball fields and tennis courts, one with swimming facilities, etc.

A growing community with small town friendliness and amenities, Plattsmouth is a great place to look for a home in the Omaha area.
